When you install the Direction Plus Fuel Manager pre-filter kit between the fuel tank and the O.E.M fuel filter, Fuel Manager will remove most of the contamination by particles and water present in the diesel fuel.

WHY IS A PRE-FILTER KIT SO IMPORTANT?
The Direction Plus Fuel Manager Pre-Filter kit is designed specifically to cope with extreme weather conditions and poor fuel quality by removing water and other contaminants from Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD).
ULSD is more susceptible to water emulsification, that is water molecules suspended in diesel which are harder to remove than in traditional diesel fuel.
This is why old technology like sedimenters work relatively well removing whole water, but struggle with emulsified water, the contaminant you can’t see.

By: Gerard Kalikas on 17 July 2018Received the pre filter, First impressions the product seemed to be made with quality products. was very happy with the item. Installing the filter was a bit fiddly, i have the dual battery set up in the 2017 sr5 Hilux, I had to relocate the electronics to the filter plate. i also had to bend the battery tray (ARB) to make room for the pre filter bracket. Once all fitted i found the filter to be quite a tight fit and was hitting the original fuel line from the body, this was over come by moving the fuel line. From the pre filter to the original filter the fittings were too close to each other and the additional fuel hose had to be located in a way that it would still fit and not kink. The Hilux engine bays are tight enough. Primed the fuel lines and was good to go. Happy with the product.
